How Much Are You Actually Doing the Work?

This week I had the privilege of speaking at the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health Bi-Yearly Conference. My breakout session titled, "Finding Healing Liberation, & Joy Beyond Childhood Scars", had a room of 100 plus people filled to the brim.

By about midway through the session individuals started to report that although they didn't realize this is what the session would be about, it was essentially exactly what they needed.

What I know to be true is that we are always being divinely guided whether we're conscious of where we want to go or not.

There were tears.

Revelations that they have more work to do.

Shifts in thinking about what it truly means to forgive.

And so much more!

When the student is ready, as the Course in Miracles says, the teacher will come.

Many individuals in that space were hurting. Many were longing for change.

How couldn't that be the case considering their exposure to vicarious/secondary trauma based on the tireless work they do with infants and their families?

Not to mention, data shows that roughly 56% of all individuals in the helping profession are they themselves, trauma survivors.

Now that they have completed the work of showing up for the session, they must choose if they will do the continuous work needed to heal and liberate however they desire.

The process of co-creation requires work. Our thoughts alone gives us roughly 60,000 opportunities to have loving sentiments which creates greater ease and flow throughout life.

I invite you to ponder how much you're really investing in your evolution.

  • How much time are you communing with God/Source/Universe/Creator?

  • How much time are you spending in solitude, deeply reflecting, or meditating?

  • How much time are you spending moving your body?

  • How much time are you spending reading to help you expand your knowledge base about yourself, others?

  • How much time are you spending cultivating relationships?

  • How much time are you spending experiencing the fullness of life (aka saying yes to what you want and no to what you don't want)?

We have endless opportunities throughout the day to work towards creating the change we seek, the lives we want.

Ultimately what we truly value is reflected in our behavior. So let's not just talk about it, complain about it, sit in it, let's do something daily to help us go deeper in the revelations of self, in order to live a wildly expansive life. One that's full of joy, peace, purpose, financial prosperity and more.
